Falling in Love With Jesus…

154_5485e“And calling near the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, Whoever will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel‘s, he shall save it. For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”  Mark 8:34-37

When I first read this many, many years ago I thought about what things I needed to do to serve the Lord to carry my cross.  For many, Christianity  has become  a “Works Oriented Religion”. In other words it is based upon our ability to do a whole lot of  stuff to earn and keep God’s love. What Jesus was talking about in this passage was not doing a whole lot of things by taking up your cross and working for him, but the yielding of our whole heart to him because we believe in the work on the cross Jesus did. We take the persecution, reality, and fulfilling promise of the work on the cross in our lives daily.  We receive God’s Grace daily carrying our cross.

FT1042_PoppyOrange_Vintage_NosegaysIn our hearts, our love for Jesus means being sold out, and in fellowship 100% with  him. When you look at the scriptures Jesus says to “follow him”. When you follow Jesus that walk  is not based upon what you do, but how you live in your heart towards  him. That affects how we love others.  Granted, our love may produce works and blessings to others because we are yielded to Jesus. Doing works  was not the focus for Jesus… it was loving and redeeming mankind. It was his love for mankind that caused him to give his life on the cross. It only took his life not thousands of gods to restore mankind to God from the fall.

The love we are to have for what he did for us on the cross we bear daily in walking out our hearts towards him. The gospel is the good news that Jesus saves. The cross we are to bear is living that every day that we believes and fellowship with him daily. It is falling in love with Jesus. Following him means following his teachings. What did Jesus teach? That’s where our real walk begins: forgiving others, loving God, living  like Christ, and walking  at peace with God. Jesus’s teaching  really provoked a brotherly love that first starts with loving and accepting him. The Holy Spirit in us guides us to walk out that love. If it was just about material things then the following verse in Mark 8:36 would not state “if a man gain the whole world and lose his soul, he will not gain anything.”

photo_gallery_01It is not about works and gaining material things.  The church at times is spending  hours encouraging just material gain. That is not the gospel. It is  one of many  benefits of the gospel that serving God provides, but it should not be the focus of our relationship with Jesus. It is out of order. It is in taking up our cross  in our heart, spirit, body, and soul  that we follow Jesus Christ. Our cross  can be the rejection we get from that truth because of the choice we make in following his will and not our own or others. It is even in the growing in love with Jesus daily that we experience prayer and fellowship instead of choosing to live in sinful lives without conviction.  It is in our love for him that we carry  our cross, our self denial, and choose life in him instead of the world. The modern church’s teaching of the  gospels to often makes Christianity look like it’s based upon works, performance, and doing tasks to show a Christian lifestyle. So many Christians are caught  up  in working off debt they owe to God, working to prove how spiritual they are, and working to gain heavenly brownie points. We are saved by Grace! The reality is we are  in fellowship with God as we accept the  work on the cross that Jesus did is the true  gospel that gives  us eternal life.

slavery “…so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:15-17

It is that love relationship we have with Jesus that gives us life daily. But who is Jesus?  Study the Gospels and find him for your self… again. We create our own image of God and Jesus after many years of losing the good news in church. Some churches are teaching everything, but  the Jesus in the Bible and history. They are teaching the “Rolex Jesus”.  They are teaching  that God is a big bank and  you have a storehouse that you can command heaven to give up. God will provide  all your needs in the relationship you have with him through simple faith.

familt dinnerAs a parent any child who comes into your house demanding stuff would probably get lectured , punished , and from  the old school manner…..  would be getting up off the floor. God is our heavenly Father.  In that relationship we just need to ask and have faith with humility and hope. He knows what you  have need of before you ask. Commanding and decreeing are ordering,  barking, and demanding  heaven. That is  not a loving relationship with honor and reverence for  God. Jesus is our example when he was in the world. He healed. He did what he saw in heaven and asked the Father  to be glorified in it.

The gospel is being rewritten by many  preachers. Go back and read again for your self who Jesus  is, what he said, and what he taught. You will be refreshed in your love for him. You will fall in love all over again with the kindness, power, faithfulness, mercy , and grace in  words, life,  teaching, death, and resurrection. It is time to be sold out again for  Jesus! He is the way truth and the light. Go back to the basics, shut down all the Christian fads and reconnect your love for Jesus all over again.

After losing  both is my parent in the past three years I have come to realize how short and long life is. Without Jesus’s  strength, I would not be able to make it. The simple scriptures of hope have become life to me. It is not the deep, demanding relationship I see so many try to have in the modern church. But it has been the simple peace in the midnight, His  comfort when I cry, and the assuring hope that they made it home to heaven.

I am falling in love with Jesus all over again myself. It is trusting in that love with tears in my eyes, that I can make it through each day. Take some time right now to pray and reconnect with a pure honest heart. Where are you in your life and faith? Let Jesus come touch your heart . Let him in the places you have banned him from. Let him wipe away your tears of brokenness. Let him give you joy again. Today, fall in love again with Jesus… the real Jesus Christ and not the one that religion has given you. But the one  in history who changed time, mankind, and holds the future…. your future. Fall back in love with Jesus!

Vitamin, Prayer Cloths, And Pills!

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!” Galatians 1:8

Vitamins,Prayer, Clothes, & Pills!

“You! Right there in that hotel room! God loves  you, Stop what you are doing. Jesus want to change your life!” I have heard  similar messages before many years ago when I have been up late watching TV. I am night owl. I go to bed around 3-5 am eve

Vitamins, Prayer Cloths, & Pills!

Back in the early 90s my husband and I preached in facilities, prisons, churches, shelters, and colleges throughout Ohio. We were honored and humbled that God would even use us to share the good news of the Gospel with others. I got a call from Glenn and Darcel Leonard asking to join us in one of the prisons we ministered in that week. They wanted to share their testimony with the inmates.

I drove to the maximum security prison we were to minister at that week with a Christian Rap group that worked with us. Glenn was one of the members of The Temptations back in the day. He still performs with them on tour. Darcel was one of the lead dancers on the Solid Gold Show. It was a top music hit show that aired every week. She was the Black female dancer with the long hair that draped every graceful move she made. It was exciting to work with them on such a rare occasion. They flew in by helicopter. It was a Black history month event. We were invited by the Nation of Islam in the prison to come and share the arts, even though we were a Christian group. Our ministry showcased the arts in all disciplines as a vehicle for preaching the Gospel. It was called On One Accord.

As a visual artist I had also arranged with the inmates and the chaplain to exhibit the artwork of the inmates during the events in the hall. I loved prison ministry because they were always open to anything unique that God used to give them strength and hope.

After we finished ministering the arts in dance, rap, poetry, and music Glenn and Darcel shared their testimonies. He talked about having a cocaine addiction that ran thousands of dollars and more a day. He was up watching late night TV and he said the preacher ministering late night on the television started talking to him while he was in the hotel room. It was not the drugs that had kicked in, but he said God knew he was in need of deliverance. He said the guy spoke as if he knew he was in that room dying from drugs and hurting from depression. He gave his life to the Lord in that hotel room that night. He said he was changed. His marriage was restored. His testimony touched the heart of all the men there. The altar was packed with men crying, getting saved, and praying.

“You! Right there in that hotel room! God loves you, Stop what you are doing. Jesus wants to change your life!” I have heard similar messages before many years ago when I have been up late nights watching TV. I am a night owl. I go to bed around 3-5 am every night. I am up creating, writing, or reading. Recently, I’ve noticed some disturbing trends. What ever happened to the types of penetrating messages on Christian TV, that have the power to point people to Jesus?

The airways are now full of Christian infomercials, finance seminars, and gimmicks. It is the format for most of the major Christian networks. Vitamins, prayer cloths, and pills! Paid advertisements.

My concern is that if I needed spiritual help and was looking for a Christian message I might not find the Jesus of the Bible on the airways at 3 am in the morning.  Let me go old-school for a minute to make my point…

Over the last 21 years, I have studied all the great revivals, and moves of God over the centuries. There are some that I question but most of them were real moves of the God in the earth. From the Welsh revival, to the Azusa Street revival of 1906. There have been great outpourings of the Holy Spirit to reach the hearts of men and women. The revivals consistently took place before or after great events hit communities worldwide. The basic moves of the revivals were repentance and restoration to God through Jesus Christ. The revivals also were God restoring the things lost through the church’s structuring of the Gospel that caused it to become ineffective. God restored gifts and power back to the church. He touched the churches that had no power, no compassion, and had lost the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

The revival movements were not based upon race, economics, or the financial makeup of the communities. The revivals were moves of God for a hurting world. There were historically documented records of miracles, signs, wonders, and healings. The Azusa Street revival ended when they tried to control the outpouring. Also racism was a factor. Some of the White preachers who witnessed the events, later did not like fellowshipping with Blacks. This is a hidden factor for the end of that revival. White leaders claimed to have birthed that move of God instead of giving full credit to William J. Seymour, a Black man. They started their own school of the Holy Spirit that segregated the Gospel. However the movement for a racially free Gospel from the Azusa Street experience continued.

The church today even on the airwaves is highly segregated. The most segregated time in America is every day of the week, not just Sunday. However many of the White ministers that are on the Black networks are selling vitamins, prayer cloths, and seed money gimmicks. The only color seen is green. With all the pains in the Black community you would think they would care more about preaching Christ to the hurting instead of asking for money from the poor. Africa is not the only place hurting, though it is very bad.

Africa is not the only place hurting, though it is very bad.

The Black preachers on those same networks are also selling vitamins and gimmicks. I saw one preacher selling small imitations of the Ark of the Covenant. He said if you bought it, you would get your blessings. What God has for all of us is free. It is because of his love for us that he helps us. We cannot earn or pay off God. Jesus made a way for us to come to him for all our needs, as we walk in faith. Faith means just believing. Faith is free. During the 1930’s the same types of snake oil preachers ripped off those who were broken in spirit. Some things never change.

After studying the revival movements for many years I became frustrated with what appeared to be fake revivals that were ineffective in helping hurting people. They were geared toward false preachers helping themselves. Every great revival I studied came to an end when men started organizing, and trying to control the movements with stoic programs. God’s love wants to reach out to those in need. Some in modern day churches are reaching into the pockets of people and not reaching for their hearts and souls.

Now… with all that said, on Christian TV I see more “Elmer Gantry” gimmicks being presented than the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the cross that gives us victory and deliverance. I do believe it is important to take care of yourself and eat right. I do believe we need good financial principles in our lives. I do believe God can use oil or cloths to heal a person if they are showing faith in it to work. It’s by faith not magic. That is God’s grace to work with us where we are. The role of ministering to the lost has changed its agenda. It is not the purpose of the Gospel of good news to push products, money making schemes, or health care.

However in the Bible we are to heal the sick and pray with the power of God for those in need. The cross of Jesus Christ made a way for us to have power from on high. There is more to being a Christian than just taking vitamins and paying seed money to everyone on the air. The infomercials of vitamins and health gimmicks have taken the place of tent revivals, miracles, signs, and wonders. They are pushing faith in products instead of faith in God who has all power to heal whatever we go through. In the Bible the man who was blind was healed by Jesus. Jesus did not sell him vitamins or a prayer cloth. This new craze in the church is not walking by faith, but is walking in self help.

If I could help myself, then I wouldn’t need Jesus. I tried helping myself without him in my life. I could not do it. I needed his power, his word, his spirit and his love to get through this life. I accepted Jesus in my life because I came to the end of myself. I needed something greater and more powerful than me to live this life. I did not create myself therefore I needed my God who understands what he created, to get me through. It is spiritually very hard to watch the Christian networks push pills and gimmicks instead of power, healing, and deliverance

There was a time when instead of being encouraged to take vitamins by life coaches, we were encouraged to pray for miracles. There was a time that if you had a need you were encouraged to pray for God to answer a prayer without you having to pay off God first to get it. I believe in the power of prayer. There was a time when the gospel was free. Now the church is saturated with gimmicks, oils, cloths, little temples, statues, vitamins, and seminars. In the Bible, Jesus healed them all. He gave us the same authority to pray for one another. He still answers prayers.

I can’t imagine Jesus passing out vitamins to the lost and conducting seminars on how to start a business. The gospel that we are to believe in as Christians is based upon faith not fear. It is based upon truth, not self help. During the 90s the church got off into a self help movement. The arrival of the millennium ushered in a time of, “Get it for yourself” . The prosperity movement in the church on the airwaves encourages you to get things to make you happy. True happiness is peace with God through Jesus, and peace of mind.

As America is going through such a hard time economically it is the hearts and souls of men and women that are broken that need true healing, love, power, and hope. Maybe things financially or health wise for you may not change quickly. However, there is a peace of mind, power, strength, and hope you can get as you believe in the true gospel of Christ when it is being preached

I was told many years ago by great ministers of the gospel to always know your salvation. I have read in the word that there was coming a time when the word of God would be hard to find because men’s hearts would become cold.  I see more schemes and corrupt teachings that are being presented as the gospel truth. At 3 am when I am up I find very few Christian networks presenting the gospel. I hear so much political hatred because we have a Black president. They preach that the world is ending because the democrats are in power. They preach hatred instead of love. They try to back it up with end-times scriptures. They call President Obama Hitler. They sanction hatred and fear on conservative networks. I keep wondering where were these same preachers when Bush was in office? The world is ending because America is controlled by someone other than a White man?

Those who can speak out against it are too busy selling vitamins and requesting seed money. The true prophets of God who would speak out will not get airtime to address this hatred and misuse of the gospel. Unless they sell vitamins or oils they are silenced. The constitution has become more important to some Christians than the Bible. That is not the gospel I signed up for. The church is losing its ability to love. Love is the key factor of being a Christian. There are no vitamins that can make you love. That comes from walking with God, having a heart change, and having his heart for the world.

The preachers who are preaching the true gospel are not Christian celebrities. Their preaching gets lost in the midst of massive, desperate Christian celebrities caught up sometimes on prosperity and business ventures. Those preachers who are preaching the true gospel are a blessing to me. You have to hunt through the channels to find them. They are sincere in their efforts. It gives me hope to stay in my lane, preach the good news of Jesus, and focus on what God has called me to do. I skip past the vitamins, life coaches, and seed money schemes. I know the gospel is free. I know healing is available and free through Christ Jesus from my own health issues and those in my family. I know God is real and that his word is alive and still powerful!

There is a need to examine and really discern what is being taught on the airwaves. My mother used to say before she went on to glory that you have to know Jesus for yourself. The older saints I have listened to over the years who survived the Great Depression and hard times in America didn’t have vitamins or seminars. They knew God for themselves because of what he did for them. Their testimonies are about a God who is always on time. Their songs came from how they got over with simple faith. We have lost some of that and should reach back to go forward with the simple gospel of good news. Jesus lived, died, and was resurrected for our sins for us to have eternal life with God.

I am up now at 2 am. In a few hours from now I will flip by the Christian stations looking for an encouraging word. Maybe I will find a preacher who is still preaching with passion, power, and hope. I know for sure I will see the vitamins, health, and money guys pushing for me to get up and call in to order some pills or send seed money. That’s when I know it’s time to just go to sleep, pray, and talk to God for myself. I encourage anyone who is in need of spiritual help in their lives to take a few minutes and pray. Open up the Bible and read the gospel of John. Read and pray to know him for yourself.

No matter what you are going through he still has all power to heal you and help you. The apostles in the New Testament did not have a TV…they had Jesus in person. You can know him for yourself as you read his teachings and believe who he was. He is just a prayer away to heal your broken heart and to help you with whatever you are going through. Vitamins, prayer cloths, and pills are really no match for God’s true power, mercy, and grace!

If you confess the Lord…. call him up!

Just Making Things Up…

1208719965e2CrlkSome time you  can get spiritually hunger and just want something to lift your spirit. You can call an old friend in the faith or turn on the  Christian TV Station. Maybe I am old school ,but it seem like Christianity  is getting farther away from being Christ like as far as folks just making stuff up. I am not  a religious Christian. I have a way to go in my walk with God.  But  I hear so much  stuff that is just seem like it is just making stuff up. The bible give us everything we need to walk out our faith.  There is no reason to just preach or teach from made up stuff.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  ”Matthew 6:33

For example, the Christianese that I hear among many  believers is just throwing around Bible_and_Moneyscriptures with no real revelation with what they mean.  In the area of finance it , I hear Christian proclaim it and name, say it, decree it, stand on it, and command it. What ever happen to simple faith? Just believe in your heart what God has said. So many churches preach a gospels of getting stuff instead of maturing in God that it cause Christians’ to just see God as big bank instead of loving father. Yes we do all have need and he will provide them as we believe in him. Just ask. That what Jesus said to do.  There are things God has provided for us  even when we didn’t believe, out of Love and grace, he gave us.

The Christian faith of one of three major book religions  in the world. I study biblical archeology and history on my own.  I love history and truth. The bible teaches the history of mankind and the redemption of man through Christ Jesus. What really make Christians different in my opinion, is that  it is supposed to teach love, grace,  and selflessness. When  I first became a Christian  the idea of thinking of others  and the world around  was so different from many religions I had tried that were based upon self gain, self achievement, self empowerment, and self  provision. The idea of following  the Savior that taught love and giving tbibleInfo003o others was enriching to me. I had done  this for many years and was tired. It was great encouragement to follow Jesus  who encourage me to give my life and give something to  others, instead of focusing on myself.

There are rewards for  living as a Christian, but they are different  that what I hear in church. God rewards are free. It is not earned credit in heaven. Jesus paid the price  for all we need on the cross. Just ask.  The reward of a big house, car, and stuff  are mentioned in line with giving up everything to preach the gospel. God does take care of his own still no matter how you serve him.  You don’t owe him . Your debt was paid by Christ as you accept him in your life. You could never have enough money to pay God off for even just  waking you up and making a way for you everyday. Priceless.  There is a joy and powerful emotion of making some else life better in the world when you  give to other your life with no expectation back. . Is our religion in vain? Jesus said follow my teaching. For many who go to church reading the big screen with scriptures ever Sunday  without a  bible  they miss the true love of reading his teaching for them self. Folks  are just making  stuff up and anticipating  believer to just believe what ever they say. Try the word.I am sure you have sat in church many a Sunday and said. “That don’t sound right?”  Have you ever looked up where Christmas and Easter comes from?

imagesCABHCKF6There are new titles being created in the church to give people new position of false authority. It all about the pastor and his need to have a power structure in place. If you go to the bible and look up some of these new titles..they don’t exist in the context of what  the bible says. But because many of us  are following whatever is said without discernment , there are  new roles that are unbiblical created. There are titles and offices in the bible, but now for many churches they are archaic. Not in God’s word. It the same,  yesterday today, and everyday.

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.”  Revelation 22:18

ChurchesThatAbuseI remember when this firs start back in the  90’s. I read a book called “Church that Spiritual Abuse” about he authority abuse in the church. It was the beginning  of what we see now in many sectors of the church. If you challenge the pastor or leader you are told ”touch not my anointed”. I understand the basis of that, but that also applies to Jesus and the rest of the body of Christ. If you are so stringent about not touching or 41NMnejvNbL__BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_rebuking what the pastor says because “he” is anointed , should we not be as hardcore about rebuking  people who mess with what Jesus says.  He is still  God’s anointed. There is a double standard  here. It would seem that  messing with what Jesus say would be held under tighter scrutiny that the pastor’s words. Jesus is the  Son of God.

“Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,But he shall receive an hundred fold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first” Mark 10:28-31

imagesCA0GLZRCHis teaching were never about material thing. And for  those who do expect material gain, in Mark it say you can gain back these thing you sacrificed for the gospels. There is an attitude of “just  bless  me and give me what I owe” without a need to serve or sacrifice. The church makes it hard to serve God because of the hierarchy that exist in it. It a game of good old boys system of getting accepted.  It does say, know those who labor among you. But that is by the Spirit. If you are not walking in the spirit ,but in the law you will miss that. The spirit of discernment has been replaced with background checks , repositioning favorite in the church,  body guards, and oppression. If you come with the right accolades you will be accepted, even if the PHD  was gained from an online college in a three-week course. I am fine with that, but then the double standards  is that who really want to serve  are tested for years to come. If you are different or creative…game on.

imagesCA2KPVT9I believe that why Jesus said in his word that we are to love and honor one another. Period. The accolades and degrees become less important when the love of Christ dominates the spiritual landscape. Love never fails. Love has been replaces with just power struggles and making things up in the church. I hear so many Christian say stuff that sound so deep and spiritual ,but is just babbling. It makes no sense and doesn’t line up with the word. For example  many Christians  greet each other with “Praise the Lord!” .That is not a greeting ,but biblical it is a command. Many use it as a  catch phrase. I hear Christians speak about  the healing process  with  great long examination instead of belief in God. I seen Christian smile right in your face and turn around walk in so much hatred and disdain. It a club med attitude that turn me off.

imagesCAFN3ALLI can recall getting in trouble in church once for taking people to poor  neighbor to reach the lost. I was told by someone that  it was unsafe. I was told to remove a 8 foot cross carved by fellow artist because the church said it as too violent and they could not explain the cross to the kids, nails and all! I was told to have the cross out of the church  in 24 hours. I have had many years experience dealing with the system of churches instead of the love in church. if you are an artist or creative you are their problem.  Especially if  they are in a building phase. They put their foot on loose-end people quickly in their eyes. And the building never ends. Usually 1500 people are paying tithes for a 3 million dollar project most of the time. This is some crazy math when you add it up.  That isn’t the heart of God.

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29

manual_cover3The bible says during the last days the elect will be deceived. So much deception is coming into church because the bible has become  a suggestion  book . It is actually  a recipe book  to walk with God through Jesus Christ. If the mode of just making stuff up keeps getting stronger ,the deception is going to get worst. Many church are growing because  people are moving to the newest tend to the next newest trends. The new growth of souls is lost. The closing of smaller churches is because they are no longer  hip. The mega church is bigger, better ,and equipped to service you like fast food restaurant. I am not saying it does work sometimes,  but what the next move? How far from the bible are we getting? How much more stuff will be  made up? It is time to step back and go back to the biblical bases.

749px-Homeless_Man Making stuff up is dangerous when it come to people’s faith. People are sincerely hurting. While  the church is teaching  to just get yours and don’t worry about the other fellow. Maybe that is why our neighbor are killing, shooting, and raping each other. We are too busy doing “us”. I spent many years preaching in churches and doing outreach. I have stopped  because of the complexity build now in the church system that hinder effective ministry. Some church are business. I am not in business when it come to preaching the gospel. It is ministry and love that compels me by God’s word. I want to help the world with my gifts.  I am more effect now doing what God call us  to  do without the weight of making stuff up.

christThe bible is my guide. It  had become harder to just work with pastor who are  on a paradigm shift . They tend to excluded people who really want to see  miracles, soul saves, and people loved. I kept getting in the way. I was told “that is not what they  are doing right now. We are setting up programs and building a new church.” I use my gift now in fine art, books, art, the internet, prayer ,and writing to encourage others to know Jesus for  himself. Am I perfect? No. But I  ain’t sitting around just making stuff up to  walk with God. Read the bible for yourself. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, love the people  in your life, and live your life  without expecting something back. every time you help someone. (Painting of Christ J,McGee)

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”’John 13:34-35

jump-for-loveGod will take care of your needs but seek his kingdom first. Making stuff up is child ‘splay compare to have  an amazing loving awesome, faithful relationship   with God with through his spirit and his word. That is  what Jesus died and rose again for. Get  back to the basic and the Holy  Spirit. Next time, take your bible to church when you go. Cross reference what is being taught. Read the bible for yourself. It is a  beautiful book of God’s love letter to us, his children with redemption and eternal life. Be  Christ like to those who need you and expect nothing back. Next time you hear some   super spiritual stuff being said that make no sense, challenge that believer to explain them self . With love and grace help them get back to simple   Christian  faith and speaking  God’s  word. They should be speaking what  Jesus taught  in revelation of the cross. Christianese has a way of sounding  great, but it  is really…. it just making stuff up.

Falling in Love with Jesus…

And calling near the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, Whoever will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.  For whoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel’s, he shall save it. For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”  Mark 8:34-37

When I first read this many many years ago I thought about what things I needed to do to serve the Lord to carry my cross.  For many, Christianity  has become  a “Work Oriented Religion”. In other words is based upon our ability to do a whole lot of  stuff to earn and keep God’s love. What Jesus was talking about in this passage was not doing  whole lot of thing by taking up your cross and working for him, but the yielding of our whole heart to him because we believe in the work on the cross Jesus did. We  take the persecution, reality, and fulfilling promise of the work on the cross in our lives daily.

We receives the God’s Grace daily carrying our cross. In our heart, our love for Jesus means being sold out, and in fellowship 100% with  him. When you look at the scriptures Jesus say to “follow him”. When you follow Jesus that walk  is not based upon what you do, but how you live in your heart toward  him. That affects how we love others.  Granted, out love may produce works and blessings to other because we are yielded to Jesus. Doing works  was not the focus for Jesus… it was loving and redeeming mankind. It was his love for making that caused him to give his life on the cross. It only took his life not thousand of gods to restore   mankind to God from the fall.

The love we are to have for what he did for us on the cross we bare daily in walking out our hearts toward him. The gospel is the good news that Jesus saves. The cross we are to bare is living that every day that we believes and fellowship with him daily. It is falling in love with Jesus. Following him means following his teaching. What did Jesus teach? That’s were our real walk begins: forgiving others, loving God, living  like Christ, and walking  at peace with God. Jesus’s teaching  really provoked a brotherly love that first start with loving and accepting him. The Holy Spirit in us guides us to walk out that love. If it was just about material thing that the verse following that  verse would not state “if a man gain the whole world and lose his soul, he will not gain anything.”

It is not about works and gaining material thing.  The church at times is spending  hours encouraging just material gain. That is not the gospel. It is  one of many  benefits of the gospel in serving God that provide, but it should not be the focus of our relationship with Jesus. It is out of order. It is  in taking up our cross  in our heart, spirit, body,  and soul  that we follow Jesus Christ. Our cross  can be the rejection we get from that truth because of the choice we make in following his will and not our own or others. It is even in the growing in love with Jesus daily that we experiencing prayer and fellowship instead of choosing to live in sinful lives without conviction.  It is our love for him that we carry  our cross, our self denial, and choose life in him instead of the world. The modern church teaches the  gospels making  Christianity look like it based upon  works, performance, and doing tasks to show an Christian lifestyle. So many Christian are caught  up  in working off debt they own God, working to prove how spiritual they are, and working to gain heavenly brownies point. We are saved by Grace! The reality is we are  in fellowship with God as we accept the  work on the cross that Jesus did is the true  gospel that gives  us eternal life.

…so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:15-17

It is that love relationship we have with Jesus that give us life daily. But who is Jesus?  Study the Gospels and find him for your self… again. We create our own image of God and Jesus after many years of loosing the good news in church. Some church are teaching everything, but  the Jesus in the bible and history. They are teaching the “Rolex Jesus”.  They are teaching  that God is a big bank and  you have a storehouse that you can command heaven to give up. God will provide  all your needs in the relationship you have with him through  simple faith.

As a parent any child that comes into your house demanding stuff would probably get lectured , punished , and from  old school manner…..  would be getting up off the floor. God is our heavenly father.  In that relationship we just need to ask and have faith with humility and hopes. He know what you  have need of before you ask. Commanding and decreasing are ordering,  barked, and demanding  heaven. That is  not a loving relationship with honor and reverence for  God. Jesus is our example when he was in the world. He healed. He did what he saw in heaven and ask the father  to be glorified in it.

The gospels are been rewritten by many  preachers. Go back and read again for your self who Jesus  is, what he said, and what he taught. You will be refreshed in your love for him. You will fall in love all over again with the kindness, power, faithfulness, mercy , and grace in in words, life,  teaching, death, and resurrection. It is time to be sold out again for  Jesus! He is the way truth and the light. Go back to the basic, shut down all the Christian fads and reconnect your love for Jesus all over again.

After loosing  both is my parent in the last three years I have come to realize how short and long life is. Without Jesus  strength, I would be be able to makes it. The simple scriptures of hope have become life to to me. Ii not the deep demanding relationship I see so many try to have in the modern church. But it has been the simple peace in the midnight, the cforet when I cry, and the assuring hope that they made it home to heaven.

I am falling in love with Jesus all over again myself. It is trusting in that love with my tears in my eyes, that  I can make it through each day. Take some time right now to pray and reconnect with a pure honest heart. Where you are in your life and faith. Let Jesus come touch your heart . Let him in the places you have banned him from. Let him wipe away your tears of brokenness. Let him give you joy again. Fall again  in love today with Jesus… the real Jesus Christ and not the one that religion has given you. But the one  in history that changed time, mankind, an hold the future…. your future. Fall back in love with Jesus!

Fighting Jezebel and Tripping with Ahab

Many years  ago in  several churches I have dealt with this spirit.  My family has fought the spirit of Jezebel. I found out the hard way that Ahab can be worst than Jezebel.  Jezebel in the bible was a Phoenician Queen that  pretty much married into  the family: Ahab’s.

1 Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.” 3 Elijah was afraid[a] and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, 4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” “ 1 King 19: 1-4

Elijah had just defeated Ahab’s  prophets. Jezebel threaten to kill him. He ran for his life.  Jezebel was going to kill him  because  of what he did to Ahab’s Prophets. Jezebel was  always doing Ahab’s dirty work. She rose to the occasion every instant that he was in troubles, wanted something , or was dealing with enemies. Ahab was Israel’s  King in 871 –852 BC.  He was Israel 7th king at the age of 22. His direct line of dealing with problems should have been calling forth the prophets of God and going straight to God. His passive behavior open the door for Jezebel’s  rule over things.  Ahab can be worst than Jezebel because he gives  a stamp of approval for her  to use her evil ways  so she can to get the solution to problems worked out for her/ his best interest. Jezebel  served other gods that the God of Israel. This open the door for many other spiritual components to operate in their problems. Ahab knew better.

Other 4 Parts of Youtube  Ringo4life

Modern day Jezebel is just as bad. It is spirit. The spirit of Jezebel is fierce. I have dealt with this spirit before. It always  is a long drawn out battle. The biggest part of the battle is being hit from every side before you can get your barring. This demon spirit mount up force from ever angle. In church it will rule from the side lines so you can’t tell where it is.  When it operates in full bloom you have to literally lay aside your life to fight it as it  tries to destroy parts of your life. Some of the trait  of Jezebel are; controlling, hatful, manipulating, revengeful, and prideful. There are many aspect to this spirit. I have read many books  about it to understand how to defeat it. You have to keep on the whole armor of God to fight it. The key I found in  defeating it is constant prayer and being  guided by the Holy Spirit. Your prayer life will go up a notch when you deal with this spirit. It will bring  you to your knees in prayer!

The spirit is not male or female in reality, but it tend to work in woman’s nature more sometime. Most like because of the constant spreading of lies, intimidation, and trick  it uses in forming  a group or covenant against  a person. Women tend to operate in groups of friends. The spirit will attack and destroy. It has a purpose  for its attack. Don’t  get it twisted. If you are fighting Jezebel  it has a clear target and expected outcome to why it is coming after you. However it may not be what you think. Again much prayer  is needed to get the victory. It  entangles you in a lot of mess when  it is in operations. Petty fights and issues are heighten when it is in full swing. Finance are messes up very bad  that are entangles with relationships. It is getting Jezebel to back down from you until it is removed from your circumstance. Demons go where they are familiar. Jezebel control the best when Ahab/passive approach are  available to issues that she can over take. Ahab is  silent when she destroys people around you. Silence  gives  it the license to operate even more.  By silence I mean the lack of prayer in the atmosphere concerning it. You have to be aggressive and  prayerful about this spirit.  Don’t fight it if it is not your battle. You will get your butt kicked quickly, then it will be your battle. Someone around you  sanction  for it to operate in the midst of you. Running to your pastor or friends to have them address  will only get you entangle more. The best way to deal with it when you are in conflict with Jezebel it to pray, pray, pray!

Jezebel has been glamorize  in modern society as a good things. Jezebel has intrigue mankind for years in film and literature. The reality is that it is real and fierce when dealing with it in your own life. You may feel like no one sees what it is doing  and you are all alone. You are getting your butt kicked and Christians around you just side with her. God sees and knows what you are dealing with if this is you. Read the bible daily and pray. Read as many prayer books as you can. Stand… when all you can do is stand. And trust that God will fight your battles. Keep your relationship with Christ tighter than ever when you are engaged with Jezebel. Stay near the cross. You will get the victory.  Time will tell. Victory may look like “the spirit leaving  you alone” and going to the next victim. That’s how it operate  until God decides he has had enough. Let the Lord fight your battle and pray.

Pray for wisdom, relief, victory, and restoration in your life when dealing with this spirit. You will find you almost have to shut down  from  friends a while to deal with it. But that is only for a season. In due time God will restore you. Keep you eyes on him!  Greater is He that is in that he that is in the world!(1 John 4:4)  You have power in  prayer through Christ Jesus. You have the blood of Jesus with power  to deal with it . Stand strong and fight in the spirit not in your flesh and you will come out victorious.

Jezebel hates prayer, prophets, faith, and true believers. Stand strong as a true believe in the battle. God got your back. Do not be passive in prayer. Pray as led by the Holy Spirit. Trouble don’t last always. If this is you and you are fighting a  Jezebel spirit in the work place , church, family, or in your personal life pray continually and God will answer. Hold  on to your faith. Fight the good fight in the spirit and you will walk always freed from  it’s web. Pray, pray, pray!

Cabin In The Sky! Warfare?

imagesCA5Z4BYSOne of my all time favorite movies is  Cabin in the Sky. Vincent Minnelli directed this great classic in 1943. He is Liza Minnelli’s  Father. It was very rare to  see  a black film with such a great cast produced in that era. A lot of film that  were produced by black filmmaker during that era showcased black talent and lifestyle  were not seen in mainstream American. This movie  moved from the stereotypes in Hollywood of black creating fun black folklore. The cast of Cabin in The Sky was Lena Horn, Ethel Water, Rex Ingram, Louie Armstrong, and Eddie Anderson to name a few.  It was cohesive cast of highly talent actor and actress that brought this film to life.

The movie’s plot  alone  opens the doors for a lot of discussion on  spirituality  as seen from a  black church view. I appreciate its innocent attempt to bring to the screen the reality of decisions, warfare, and struggles in life in a  real way. It the simplest form the movie shows  the possibilities   if you had a second chance at life …what would you do different?imagesCA2RKPAM

In the film Little Joe  is suppose to make his life right with God. He make a  decision to shoot dice instead of getting his soul right with God. He almost dies. He is stuck in state of limbo. The angels of God and the demons of hell battle for his soul. An angel is sent to heaven to see what God want to do about Little Joe. His wife is praying women. She has been praying for Little Joe’s soul. The angels hear her praying and it moves God. Little Joe is given an second chance to live and get it right. He will not remember however what happen when he died and  the warfare that  took  place in his room. So he  has  to make the right choices this time around. The demon( Lucifer Jr.)  promises to set him up for failure. The angel from heaven also will help him give them a fight. He makes some decisions that  sets the course for  his life to look familiar. I will leave it at that because if you have not seen the movies that ending is superb! I don’t want to spoil it!

It life we are faced with decisions. if you could take back anything you did in life what would you do different? The warfare that take place around Joe from a Christian perspective is worth taking note. Many time we walk as if we are on our own. There are angels and demons sometimes at war in the midst of us. I have experience the  feelings of  protection  many times by angelic forces around me.

I picked  up an young man   at night on my way back to colleges hitchhiking many years ago. I  never do stuff like that! The man was strange in a good way. He keep telling me about Jesus and all these blessing  that would happen to me in my life.  I was not a Christian at the time. The car was lite with  a bright light. I can’t  explained it . We drove for  about 20 min.  I took him to his house. I was parked under a bright street light. He shared with am all the  things God had for me and to just believe him. He said my life would be  getting better. I watched him get out  my car and go behind my car. I wanted to see what house he would go into so I could come back by and talk to him the next day. He just vanished behind my car. I got out the car …..he was no where to be found. I was parked under bright street light! I could not see him any where. I believe he was an angels.

Many time we are encountered angels and help from above. The TV show back in the 70’s Highway to Heaven was a concept of having help sent to you to make the right decisions. In the bible its say to treat  stranger right because we may encounter an angel. I have studied many book about angels from a biblical perspective. We are  not to worship them but understand what they exist, war,  do God’s will,  and protect.  Only God knows!

“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” Hebrew 13:2

In one scene in Cabin the The Sky the angels and demons and walking around the room pacing waiting for an angel to bring back the message from Heaven. Little Joe sees his own  body in the bed and is panicking. The angel of God tries   to calm  him down. The demons are eager to take his soul to hell. The battle for our soul is real each day the temptations we face  to do wrong.  Sometimes  that out ways the desire to do right.  Some day you can feel the battle. Some day we just give in. However being a Christian change all of that when we walk in God’s grace through Jesus Christ.  We have help and have settled our account with God. That mean we are not  wrestling with what will happen when we die because we believes.  Our sins have been forgiven. We are just trying to live right , but have grace and mercy from God.

I figure as a Christian walking with God If I die and  let say that there is no God or heaven….. I have live my life loving and serving others.  I have nothing to lose because I lived a good life loving others. The flip side of the coin is that if I die and I have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior  then I risk the chance of missing out on heaven. I am exchanging 100 years on the life living right for the risk of 1000’s of year in eternity away from God. It made sense to me in doing the math to take a chance on Jesus, he has not failed me left. Many people have had NDE – Near Death Experience who have seen heaven and hell. Many were not Christian and discoverer their faith.

For those who have never watched the movie… rent it!. It is not accurate in some ways biblically  but great entertainment in seeing spirituality in different light.  Cabin In The Sky  shows some of the pitfall and temptations we have in life that can cause of us to be  tricked  into failing from grace.  In one scene  the demons in hell played  by  Rex Ingram, Louie Armstrong, and Fletcher River(Stepping Fletcher) plots to get Little Joe’s soul. Their plan involved money and a women. The scenario is played out ever day in our society with or without the help of demons! The decision to gamble, trick, lie, or steal for greed. There are women that are gold diggers that love to seek out man with money. There is even website called “Sugar Daddies” to find men with  money and hook up. Some things never change!

We are tempted on every side. We battle and tray hard a s human to make the right design. The most  amazing part of the movie for me is watching the angels of God in white suite  dressed like warrior protecting his  soul. It is all entertainment but provide such strong images for  the imagination of the help we may have. Cabin In The Sky is a legendary film that capture a glimpse of spirituality. Of all the film that could have been produced by MGM this film  on black life is uplifting. It speaks to the heart of who we are as black people. We are  very spiritual!!!!  Whatever you are battling  trust you are not battling it alone. God can and will send help where you pray for it or not!  He is faithful. I hope if you have time to watch  the film that it help you to see  even through entertainment that what every decision you make in life whether you are saved or not God has a plan for you. He  can sent  you help when you need it. Even as we speak for what you are facing today… help on the way. He has a Cabin in The Sky for you!

Why Am I Paralyzed?

The original definition of sleep paralysis was codified by Dr Johnson in his A Dictionary of the English Language as “nightmare,” a term that evolved into our modern definition. Such sleep paralysis was widely considered to be the work of demons and more specifically incubi, which were thought to sit on the chests of sleepers. In Old English the name for these beings was mare or mære (from a proto-Germanic marōn, cf. Old Norse mara), hence comes the mare part in nightmare. The word might be etymologically cognate to Hellenic Marōn (in the Odyssey) and Sanskrit Māra. Folk belief in Newfoundland, South Carolina and Georgia describe the negative figure of the Hag who leaves her physical body at night, and sits on the chest of her victim. The victim usually wakes with a feeling of terror, has difficulty breathing because of a perceived heavy invisible weight on his or her chest, and is unable to move i.e., experiences sleep paralysis. This nightmare experience is described as being “hag-ridden” in the Gullah lore. The “Old Hag” was a nightmare spirit in British and also Anglophone North American folklore. In Nigeria, “ISP appears to be far more common and recurrent among people of African descent than among whites or Nigerian Africans“, and is often referred to within African communities as “the Devil on your back.”Various forms of magic and spiritual possession were also advanced as causes. http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/ghoststories/

There are several medical reasons for waking up with sleep paralysis during the night: stress, eating late, disease, narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnologic hallucinations. I don’t rule out any of these as possibilities for why anyone is experiencing this phenomenon. However waking up from sleep paralyzed at 3 am could be a sign of demonic activities that are not related to a medical occurrence.  Because I am not a doctor I cannot provide any insight into the matter based on your own personal health.  I can only give you my insights from a spiritual perspective. It is your judgment call if you feel like you need to seek medical help for this occurrence.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. Psalm 91:5-7

Ever since I was a teenager I have experienced it. Over the years it has lessened in my life. I have learned to pray against and war against it when it happens to me or my husband.

When I have experienced sleep paralysis I have been attacked, tormented, and even tackled. I am wide awake when this happens and unable to move. I have heard noises, sounds, and have seen dark spirits, black birds and other entities manifest. I am awake when it happens. You get this sensation of feeling really drowsy and tired. And you know that if you go back to sleep it will only get worse. The room is very clear and you know that you are not asleep. You know that if you can move just one part of your body or scream that you can break the spirit that is holding you down. Fear can also paralyze you. It is a spirit and also an over whelming grip.  God did not give us a spirit of fear. Bind it and rebuke it in Jesus name!

I have talked to so many Christians who go though this and have no idea how to deal with it. There are two solutions I have found that work every time I am paralyzed. Call upon the name of Jesus. If you are not able to talk then just say it in your mind “Jesus help me!” As a Christian we also have the power to rebuke it and bind it. Whether or not it is a medical problem you are having it is not normal nor of God. You have nothing to lose by rebuking and calling upon his name for help.  Jesus came for us to have healing in our bodies so if it is medical he can help you still. If it is demonic and you are being tormented by spirits you still have power over it based upon his power. This does not happen as often as it used to because I have learned to pray, bind it, cry out, and fight with the weapons of warfare we have in Christ! Pray for the Lord to make you sleep peacefully and restful in Jesus’ name!

Uncle Bob is Not Walking Around at Night

3:10 AM

There are countless shows on TV that deal with the paranormal. I have watched them over the year get EMTs, videos, and capturing small hints of a paranormal world. One of the things mention in the Deuteronomy 18 passage was Necromancy.

 nec·ro·man·cy (n k r -m n s ) n.

1. The practice of supposedly communicating with the spirits of the dead in order to predict the future. 2. Black magic; sorcery. 3. Magic qualities.

http://www.dictionary.comLate_at_night_by_s3vendays

These practices of seeking an audience with those who have passed away have been around since the beginning of time. There are paranormal shows that attempt to communicate with the dead and have them respond. The responses the paranormal investigators are getting are true. There is something responding but I don’t believe that the respondents are ghosts or humans that need to cross over into the light.

The Bibles says:

“And in as much as it is appointed unto men once to die,

And after this cometh judgment.”

Hebrews 9:27

We are given this one life to live, after that, based upon the word of God we are in eternity.

We are living in a time of TV that encourages misrepresentation from the truth. The information age we live in provides us with many alternative way of thinking, whether grounded in truth or not. Many of the paranormal shows encourage the participants to be open to the friendly spirits that are walking around. Necromancy is a door opener to many levels of disruption to your life. There are many stories of people who played with Ouija boards and had horrible spiritual repercussions. There are even report of people who attempted to burn Ouija boards and were not able to. The use of séances and psychics that are not fully aware of how to rebuke the forces that are allowed entrance can damage people lives. The torment of having spirits constantly oppress your family can be maddening. I have countless stories over the years from people who have experienced the visitation of dead loved ones from the grave. It never provokes peace or harmony. There is always fear, torment, and deception involved.

The Witching Hour

“In European folklore, the Witching Hour is the time when supernatural creatures such as witches, demons and ghosts are thought to be at their most powerful, and black magic at its most effective. This hour is typically midnight, and the term may now be used to refer to midnight, or any late hour, even without having the associated superstitious beliefs. The term “witching hour” can also refer to the period from midnight to 3 am.” From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

First, let’s look at the concept the Witching Hour and the Dead Hour and get a better understanding of who is up and why. Both events take place at about the same time every night. One of the earliest known uses of the exact phrasing “the witching hour” is from the 1831 edition of Frankenstein in the introduction by Mary Shelley:

“Night waned upon this talk, and even the witching hour had gone by before we retired to rest.”

Its roots can be traced all the way back to the early years of Europe during the time of the Druids. A lot of customs, holidays, and practices we have in our culture today come from the Druids.

3:43 AM

The Dead hour has been a time that many refer to in relation to the events that happened to Jesus, to understand why so much demonic activity occurs during the 3 am time period. When Jesus was arrested it was between 3 am and 6 am in the morning. The reactions to this historical event have been heightened by demonic spirits over the centuries. To better understand 3 am you have to look at the arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. The chronological clock of these events is key to the demonic activities that have the occurred nightly at the time. Jesus was on the cross for 6 hours. He was physically crucified and died at 3 pm. The 3 am time is the exact opposite of the time he hung on the cross and died. The demons from Satan react to this opposite time by creating very heavy demonic torments every night at 3 am.

“Some paranormal investigators believe that 3am is the time when paranormal activity is at its peak. These select investigators feel that, in essence, it’s the most active time because one theory is that Jesus died at 3 pm, so the opposite is 3 am. They feel that this particular time, because of this very reason, tends to be the preferred time of spirit activity.” http://www.theparanormalsociety.org/hauntings/3am-dead-time

Vatican Declares Hours Between

3 A.M., 5:30 A.M. ‘Ungodly’

June 13, 2001 | ISSUE 37•22 The Onion.com

VATICAN CITY–In the first papal edict against a time of day since 1560, Pope John Paul II declared the two-and-a-half-hour interval between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. “wholly ungodly.” “If a man dares to come home during these demonic hours, he shall be declared anathema,” said His Holiness. “Likewise, anyone calling during these hours shall face excommunication.” The pope added that in some cases, devout Catholics may receive special dispensation from a priest in a different time zone

What’s in a House?

135775_moon_1When our family lived in Columbia, Maryland we rented a house that was a portal of some kind to hell. The constant banging and noise was demonic. I could sit down stairs and hear someone clearly walking every day across the bedroom floor with very loud footsteps. One day I saw the cat playing with something. It was a small wormwood like creature you would find in pictures of hell. It got worse every day. There was stomping, walking, and banging that went on all day and night. The house was in front of a forest of trees. A young man had died I think in the house. There was a neighborhood plaque placed in his honor outside our front door.

Our neighbors never told us about what had happened. They always just remained silent. This was a key to knowing that something had gone wrong in the house. I can remember one night waking up paralyzed and having a black shadow pressing me on the bed. When I finally was able to call aloud upon the name of Jesus it broke. My eyes were open watching it.

It turned into a black bird and flew out of the window. On several occasions we had black outs that came out of nowhere. The community was also located behind a major  Heavy Metal Rock concert arena.  I would wake up at 3:01 am and sit up on the side of the bed. The moment my foot hit the ground the lights would go out all over the whole neighborhood. I thought it was me. The third time this happened I realized that I was being awakened by God and that something was going on. I knew it was a time of prayer. When I sat up to deal with it the light went out for several blocks at the exact time.

A few weeks before we left my husband and I were in the bed asleep. The kids had gone over to some friends’ house. I heard some one come to the door of our room, walk to the door, listen for us and then leave. I thought it was the cat. I went to the door and opened it. No one was there. I next opened my daughter’s room door and the cat was on the bed just staring at me. It had been locked in the room.

I decided to test this theory I had that what I was dealing with was an entity. I placed my husband’s lunch bag on the banister in the house above the steps. It was on a firm surface with a lot of room to sit. There was no wind or drafts in the hall. The surface was about 4-5 inches wide. I walked away, closed our room door, and waited a few minutes. I heard the lunch bag fall. I opened the room door, went back to check, and something had knocked it off the landing.

It was time to deal with it spiritually. I believe where ever we live, where ever we place our feet becomes holy ground. We are to occupy until Jesus’ return. He has given us authority. We did relocate out west a few months later. We prayed and spoke God’s word over the house. The house appeared to be a portal or gateway to hell. Many events happened in this house that led me to this conclusion. I gained greater revelation of dealing with old houses by this experience

We had also lived near the Arlington cemetery in Virginia at one time. I can recall a demon that would come down the hall every night towards my daughter’s room. She would yell my name. I would get up and go rebuke it. One day in this Arlington house, I was lying on the couch resting. I heard a large banging across the attic that went all across the floor. It was the loudest pounding I had ever heard.

I asked my landlord the next day about it, if there was construction in the area. She said “no” and that maybe it was just some construction work on a nearby road. There had to be some other explanation because these noises were coming from inside the house and they were loud. We had heard things being dropped in the attic every day. One Saturday we got tired of it and decided to command it to leave out of the window and go. The shades to the widow shuddered and lifted up really high and something went out of it.

We moved from there. We won’t live in older houses any more due to the demonic activities. There is a history of houses on the land that can get greatly possessed with the passing of time. I never deal with entities as if they are ghosts but as demons. Using the name of Jesus gave us victory and peace when we lived at this location. Sometimes houses are given over to Satan through rituals, covenants, witchcraft and more. It is important to pray about where you live.

skytimeIn both the houses we had lived in we were given the houses with no credit check and the leases were signed on the spot. I know now that the people who lived there before must have left quickly because of the problems they encountered possibly could not explain. I believe that wherever we put our feet is holy ground and God is always with us. I still do believe that God gave us the victory over each of those houses. His protection and power was with us. His name held back the worst of things and removed many of the forces we were dealing with. His angels were with us fighting the battle for us also. We had help from heaven. There are many arsenals we have to fight the good fight if we use them in the name of the Lord Jesus. He gave us everything we need at the cross.

Through all the trials we have been through in this life and all the things we have seen even at 3 am his power and love has always been there and has never changed. The greatest joy for us in life is not waking up at 3 am and praying but of being able, through Jesus Christ, to come to God every hour, every second of the day in prayer and to know that he is there!

Is That A Rock In Your Hand?

For most of my adult life I have attended church.  I have run across so much Haterade among Christians. I understand why so many people refuse to go to church on Sunday mornings.   Is that a rock in your hand? They throw big rocks now days.  I am an “underground Christian”  because of some of the things I have witnessed in church  among Christians. The way we treat each other is unacceptable. The way we treat people who are not of our faith is even worse. Where is the love?

Okay, so has this ever happened to you? I have attended churches where the ushers push you into the seats to make sure when they film the show the audience looks full of people. It doesn’t matter whether you want to sit in the back or the front, just sit  where they say sit! I’ve had my son and daughter shoved into pews by ushers that insisted we sit near the front for filming. I like sitting in the back. I always  try to sit in the back. I  give the ushers some slack because they are just following someone’s orders. However they can push really really hard!  The hatred comes in when you say something to them, they give you that, “I wish you would look!” The first thing that kicks in is my street. Next thing you know… Jesus has left the building.

I hate the confrontations that come from just trying to go to church. At one  church I attended we prayed for a lady who sat next to us and was sick. When I looked up the church’s bodyguards were standing around us. They said no one is allowed to pray unless the pastor does it. Wow. Those dudes were really big. So she stopped praying for us and we stopped praying for her. Why do churches need bodyguards? It’s that Haterade again. This church had about 10,000 members. I hope the pastor has time to get around to them all. I thought that’s why the Bible said we are to pray for each other. I was in the army for several years. I understand authority and rank. But when it comes to the church it seems like it is  made up to just keep the hierarchy in tack. I believe we all can pray for one another  The pastor  does not have Jesus on lock down however them dudes were tooooo big to  tangle with.

There are churches I have attended that you have to know the right time to shout and praise in.  If you shout or cry out of turn you just look plain stupid. Theyhqdefault stare  at you with  hate-filled  eyes. Your timing  must be on key.  People have  stuff to do and are trying to get out on time. A Black church is usually a good 4-6 hour shift on a good Sunday. I have a tendency to dance and shout when I praise God. There  is a cut-off time for the dance  and praise  that is worked into the program. If they don’t  know you and you pass the  cut off time  the greeters and ushers  are sent over to you to get you to settle down. They hug you tight while they slowly seat you. Good looking out.

Up front is where the star shouters are. There are usually 2-4 who  are always upfront. They are regulars.  Even if a wig flies off, they are guaranteed a spot next Sunday up front.  There’s a  seven-step minimum to the dance.  More steps than that and you lose your following. So you think you can dance on Sunday morning can  quickly turn into  a Soul Train line.  If you shout, make sure you at least have been to that service a few Sundays before, so they know you. Otherwise  your shouting  can be seen as demonic possession. You’re not familiar. Haterade.

albaseball“When Pashhur the priest, the son of Immer, who was chief officer in the house of the LORD, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, 2 Pashhur had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put him in the stocks that were at the upper Benjamin Gate, which was by the house of the LORD. 3 On the next day, when Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “Pashhur is not the name the LORD has called you, but rather Magor-missabib.(That name means Terror on Every Side.) Jeremiah 20:1-3

“8 Whenever I speak, I cry out proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the LORD has brought me  insult and reproach all day long. 9 But if I say, “I will not mention his word  or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. 10 I hear many whispering, “Terror on every side! Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!” All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, “Perhaps he will be deceived;   then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.” Jeremiah 20:8-10

Jeremiah was given a word by God to speak in Jeremiah 18 & 19. The word he spoke was so hard  that Pashhur  had him beaten and put him  in the stocks in Chapter 20. Pashhur’s response to the word was so intense that God  changed his name to  Magor-missabib. That name means “Terror on Every Side”. That’s some real Haterade! I have  heard the phrase “A fire shut up in my bones” many times before in church. I have sung and danced so many times to Pentecostal songs with that phrase. I have been studying the book of Jeremiah  this year  so I am running across many new revelations. I was very surprised to find that phrase in Chapter 20 after he was beaten.

He was beaten for speaking what God has told him to speak. He  said that he could not hold himself. It was like a fire shut up in his bones. There is something to this truth as a believer that God’s word  and praise can  be put in you so strong that it is like a fire shut up in your bones. The truth of the matter also is that you can be persecuted and beaten for having  such zeal to speak what God has placed in you. You can be ostracized by other believers for speaking the truth. Your gifts and calling will be called into question when you speak God’s truth. If you don’ have the right recognized titles, you will be dealt with for speaking the truth.

To speak God’s words in the church there are religious rules  then there is  God’s way. Jeremiah broke all the so-called rules because it was a fire shut up in his bones burning  him to be obedient to God. I have paid the price inlost friendships, in church, in ministry, and among believers for speaking  God’s word. I don’t carry the right credentials in the eyes of the church system to even have a right to speak.  I have been a believer for over 32 years.  I am called by God to be  myself.  I know the call on my life. I have had  commissioning , elders, apostles, pastors, and prophets confirm  it many times over. I don’t walk around with a business card announcing my call. I am just trying to live it.

The freedom I have in Christ to love and be who he  says is more important to me than trying to convince  others. Many times  the things required  of you in the church structure have nothing to do with the word of God.  It seems like we are in a season where people are just comfortable making stuff up to keep order. I have found every time a church starts to expand they tighten up on the ministers and programs they consider to be loose  ends. Those people are treated with  a harsh  heavy hand and disrespect: dance ministries, drama,shaun-the-sheep-pic-1 ministries, new choir singers, and outreach ministers to name a few. The new complex they are building has become more important than the people that got the church to that point of expansion. They are outcast. I have seen this shift so many times that I prefer not to go through it again unless called by God. It is very painful to watch people who truly love and serve God be broken like bricks. Haterade.

It seems like church growth has often been considered more important than the people of God. Jeremiah was not  concerned with Pashhur’s kingdom. He was focused on saying  what God had placed in him.  Pashhur’s name was changed because  he did not  deal with Jeremiah correctly. I wonder how many churches  have dealt with people called by God  with such heavy hands? Their new  vision is suffering from their Haterade. God uses the least to do his will some times. It is not about  the PhDs or being ordained by a religious order that qualifies you for being used by God.  God can use anyone. Just ask Jeremiah, Ruth, Ezekiel , Mary, Paul, or John.

The Haterade in the church is troubling. Especially for me. I am not a baby Christian so I can‘t go into churches and pretend to just do whatever I am told without question. What scriptures are they getting this from anyway? I  study the word of God  for myself and pray.  I do not know everything. I have a lot to learn. But I  discern what is truth and what is a lie. When they see me coming they seem to get upset. The authorities  in church will  usually ignore my requests to get involved or to work with their established programs.

I have had pastors roll their eyes at me and stare me down just for showing up. Time out. No more games for me. I take the word of God for what it says. We all have gifts and talents  from God  to use in the body of Christ. I preached 15 years ago about what would begin to happen to the church when the new world order began to slide in. I am seeing prophecy fulfilled. I will leave it at that.

I am by no way bitter either. I totally understand the need to stay in control at all times over the sheep. I pray  for all the churches across America that God will use them. However just as Jeremiah said it is like fire shut up in his  bones, I can not be silent. I use my art, blogs, books, films, and designs to tell the good news of Jesus Christ.

There is no need for the Haterade in the church. Where is the love? I see believers treat each other with meanness, hate, heartlessness, disrespect, and turning on each other quickly. There are days I want to scream  from the roof tops “Let me be myself!”

Jeremiah was beaten for speaking God’s words. Many  believers everyday  are  beaten emotionally for doing and saying what God says. Sadly enough by those who claim to know God. Haterade is  like being a Christian bully. Bullies  will do everything they can to make you submit to them or they ostracize you from the group. There are so many Christians walking around with rocks in their hands. They are waiting to hurt another brother or sister in the Lord for not being what they think they should be. Throw your rock down.

We talk so harshly to each other and then apologize. The character of Christ is missing in our tone. We justify Haterade. Many Christians act like Pashhur and are a ”Terror on every side”.  The Haterade causes some Christians to be  fake and phony about what they really think about  other believers. We should look for Christ in each other. We are to give grace and mercy to each other. We are to love. They will know us by our love.

I hope the body of Christ will lift its eyes to God and start to really love each other with true, unconditional love. Love is missing sometimes in the sermons. Love is missing on the pews  on Sunday mornings. Love is missing in the way we are approaching  serving one another. Love is missing in the way we treat each other when in pain. Love is missing in the way we respect each other’s gifts and talents. Love is missing in just loving one another the way Christ does.

I promised myself a long time ago that I would not allow hate to fill my heart. I am on a journey to love.  I miss it many times myself. But love is my destiny in this life. I do things for others, serve, and love as God leads where I can. I have  learned to remove myself from churches, people, haters, and mean spirited saints in love. I don’t allow myself to be abused by believers anymore. I just love them and hope to do better myself.  I am on a journey to love and give whether I get  it back or not. Quoting  scriptures does not mean  you have the character of Christ  or his image in your heart.  It is loving others like Jesus would love. If there is a rock in your hand… throw it down. Stand on the real Rock that is Jesus. Let others be  who they are in Christ. Let their fire and your fire burn with the love of God. It is a fire shut up in your bones that can’t be silenced. It is the Holy Spirit  in you! Throw down your rocks!

There are times when you  want a good black play or movies that has family values and a good moral ending.  On late Sunday afternoon you can  watch black plays ever now and then featured on BET, Centric, or TV One. I recently ran across this site that  sales Black Christian Movies.  A few of this I have watched  on my own are very good. Faith For Answered Prayers!

“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  I Thessalonians 5: 16-18

I am always looking for a good book on prayer.  The best book I have found is the bible. Praying is a key part of our Christian walk. Prayer changes things. The problems most of face  is getting prayers answered. There is no magic tricks or formulas to getting prayers answered. It is walking in simple faith.

As a follow of Christ my prayer life is the key to my relationship with God. Back in the  times of the New Testament they did not have the bible. The New Testament was written from epistles by those who were with Jesus. Their faith came from what they saw and knew about  Jesus in the flesh. They witness his  birth, death, and resurrections. Their faith came from their experience with Christ.

The simplicity of our experience  with God   is where our faith comes from. It is our experience with God’s faithful. It is what we know about him  and  our history with him that provokes great faith. The signs and wonders of God  are for the believers and  non believers that we may know him.

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death’” Revelation 12:11

A great examples is if you went to a local bakery and had the best cake you ever tasted. The next time you wanted some cake you will think about that experience you had with that bakery. You will be compelled  to go back to the bakery and buy  some more cake. We are creatures of habit. Prayer is the same way when it comes to walking in faith. When you reflect on your experience with God you can think back to times when he has answered your prayer. Those are landmarks for your faith. Your faith is built upon what you know and experience  of God through Jesus Christ. I have been healed by God many times. When I get sick, I have a reference point in my life of knowing he has  healed  me and my family before. I have been broke and without in my life. I have prayed for  blessings and he  had answered  those prayer many times. God is a good God!

Our faith comes from our experience in a God that is faithful. If you go to God and see him as unfaithful, your prayers are  hinder by doubt.  Jesus died on the cross and rose again for us to have answers to our prayer.  He will answer your heart desire.  For many of us we don’t realize what the cross  means in our lives.  Many believers are  struggling with simple faith  of who Jesus is and what the cross means. Knowing that you are in his kingdom is a key  factor in  walking with Jesus.  Go back to the gospel and revisit the teachings of Jesus. When you accept him in your heart and are filled with his spirit you are his.  As you confess with your mouth salvation you are saved.  Therefore you  have a new relationship with God  through Christ. God promise  that  all you need is in him.

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20

Simple faith in  him  and who is he to you  is the  starting point for answered prayers. As a  believer it is our simple  responsibility to believe  God’s promise for our life in him.   Have faith  in God to  answer your prayers and your needs. You are his child, so why would he keep any good thing from you?

Your experience  with God will open the doors for more  answered prayer as you believe in  him.  Your faith will get stirred up by praying. He has will do for you what he has done for others. Many  of the things  we  ask  God  for he  has already done for someone else in a similar way in the world at some time.  He  repeats his blessing over and over again in  his love. And yet his mercy is new every day.  He heals daily, he provide daily  he  restores daily, and he delivered everyday. The Spirit in you know how to pray for you what you need!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrew 11:1

Your needs are not an  exception  or out of heaven’s reach. Have faith in God to answer prayers  for you as  he has before in your life. Stop for a minutes and think of all the things he   has done! Praise him like it  is  being done again by faith.  I was going through  some hard times once and God spoke to my heart about  praising in  faith.  He showed me that in my heart that feeling of joy I get when he  had answered my prayers after they  were answered is  was  how I should  feel before the prayers are  answered. That same sense  of praise of  victory after the prayer was  answered  is  simple faith in him. It was faith because I simply believed  in him to move.  I began to praise him with joy. The prayer was  answered quickly in the following days. In my heart is was already done. I just began to believe without seeing it. I had faith in God in  answering my prayer!

I was asking God for things that lined up with his will. I was not asking for  sinful desires or evil wishes. I was asking for provision, healing, and help. Praise him because you know he will do it before it done! Praise is not a magic wand that will drop things  from heaven. Praise and faith  combine is a sincere act of victory  that the God you serve is faithful in helping you in your times of need!

Faith is the key. It is not that we don’t have enough faith, but we are not using faith to get answered prayer.  We are “holy wishing instead of believing. Just believe. Faith is not a wand you wave to trick God into moving.  It is  simply  saying I believe  in God. I believe that Jesus made a way for us to have our  prayers answered.  Faith says I believe!

As believer we  are to believe. God will keep no good  thing from you! You have nothing to lose in believing in Him to answer your  prayers. Faith in Him is key.  Faith can move mountains in your life. Faith can open doors for you no man can shut. Faith can heal  you when you are sick. Faith will restore your marriage. Faith will cause you children to act right. Faith will open the windows of heaven if you believe. Faith can touch those around you are in need of prayer.

It is simple faith that Jesus taught in the disciples. Simply  believe in Him. Have faith and you will see you prayers answered. Reflect on all the things God has done for you. Look back over your history  with God….  hasn’t he been good? He has made a way for you many times before and this time is no different. Pray with faith not fears. Pray with boldness not concerns. Pray  and see God move as you pray with simple faith. And after you prayer… rejoice if you really believe it is done!

Before you see it, know it is done and rejoice! Praise God for the prayers he has  answered for you. Do it with a sincere heart of faith. Don’t shout and scream because you think you are supposed to. Praise him because you truly believe he has answered your prayer. God loves you and want to bless you. You are his child. He will move on your prayer as you have simple faith him. Just believe. Have faith that your prayer  is answered.  Pray without ceasing. Pray with faith. Rejoice always in prayer!

“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” John 14:13

Meet James Crow

I started using the term in 2000 after relocating from Colorado Springs to Baltimore, Maryland. We lived in Colorado Springs  for about 5 years. It was the Christian right-wing mega church ministry political mecca. Over 400 Para church ministry are located at that time in the Springs. That included Focus On The Family. I saw many things and learned about the right-wing Christian conservative agenda for the next 10 years to come. I came back from out west very angry and discouraged. But when I got back to the east coast I was surprise to see how many black churches had began to buy into their schemes of using the black vote and church for their  conservative agenda.

The was new face on the deteriorating  race relations that has  evolved into  a new James Crow that is extremely deceptive. James Crow is the elder aged version of Jim Crow for the  millennium. This new James Crow hijack the progress of black in America  to use for  its own agenda. The new James Crow pimps black people’s wealth, values, and civil rights for it own political purpose. The new James Crow  creates the illusion of unity  to secretly set  the wheels in motions for progression of a few select communities. The new James Crow is embedded in the church and is called multiculturalism. The New James Crow is deeply institutionalized in the system so that it  can not be questioned or removed.

The new James Crow blames the victim for being the victim. This new James Crow is ruthless and extremely hard to fight. It sits in corporate America daily. It will hire you for the job and ensure that you never progress. It will comfort you with a little success in order to quiet down your desire for real progress. The new James Crow will demand that you conform to  its way of thinking in order to  go higher in the ranks. You have to leave  behind any alliance you have with those of your race. You must function as a master of blending without questioning the effects  the decisions you make on those who are left behind.

The new James Crow is openly racist. If you call it a racist them you are called one back. The new James Crow will get kicked off the air or Television for racist remarks. The new James Crow will find a new voice  with a larger wider audience then it had  before. The New James Crow has a sister Jane Crow that will fight you like a man. She will provoke you to anger with foolish arguments. The she will call you racist for disagreeing with her. She get free air time  on any subject and write books because she is  labels as entertaining. She is uneducated on working with black , but creates commentary like she is an authority on race matters. She may have one black friend. One is enough for her.

I have  heard a lot of conversations on talk radio by the new James Crow about the joys of being “not politically correct” and openly hateful. He will not address the injustice and hardships still affecting the black race. The New James Crow throws Hitler’s name out on the airway to keep America in fear. The new James Crow uses fear to contain the masses.  And I dare not even mention the OJ trial of the 90’s. The whole tone of conversation among James Crow changes into total disgust. The new James Crow keeps a large following of listeners afraid of diversity. The new James Crow encourage “race mixing” fears. He dislikes true race relations and does not hide his concerns.

James Crow believe it is time for Blacks  to “just get over it”. Slavery was  many years ago in his eyes. James Crow call it the  “post racial period”. The new James Crow uses this term to silence change.  James Crow believe he “took” one for the team by giving “us” a black president. He believes black people  should  just “settle down” and “enjoy it” while it last. The new James Crow has Obama on his clock. When he sounds the alarm Obama’s  time will be up. James Crow will move on to his intended agenda of “taking back” America. He will have just cause if he make sure the presidency of Obama fails.  The new James Crow is calculated and entrenched in the America philosophy of the constitution. He never counter on it being used to vote in a black man. It will need to be changed in James Crow’s mind. He creates the Tea Party movement to push that agenda.

Across the country James Crow encourages a philosophy that stresses America is  tired of Blacks “complaining” about civil rights and injustice. Black people in his eyes  have  come a long way. They can  buy houses now and send their  kids to  his white schools. Even if black kids  had to hide their culture, act white, and start a healthy road of self-hatred of their  race.  Hip Hop became James Crow new  vehicle to degrade black women, push violence, and drugs. James Crow allow his children to listen to it so they will know how blacks “really” are in his eyes to  enforce racist attitude. Have you ever looked at who is in the board rooms  producing rap music? James Crow comes in many shades. His favorite color however is green. Hip Hop has to go back to its roots to go forward so it can be the voice of this generation against James Crow. It can be that voice when it is policed by those who are the founding fathers of it.

James Crow’s kids will go to white colleges and have Martin Luther King Day where they dress up in black face. James Crow’s kids wall hangs nooses on trees and out of window on college campus and high schools. They will call it “just having fun”. James Crow’s  kids will get mad because they can’t say  “Nigga”   unless they are  singing in a  rap song. So they  encourage  blacks in power  to ban  it from their own culture. James Crow’s  kids will think it cool to hang around black kids along as they don’t identify with their race or history. James Crow kids will make  millions raping like black people, creating videos of hip hop hoes, and   negative stereotype images of blacks  without a  knowledge of the historical  pain. James Crow will put a white women in black face on Vogue magazine and call it art while keeping black women off the runways.

Jim Crow started right after slavery (1876) and ensured injustice of Blacks until the dis mantle of it in the late 1960’s. However it resurfaced in the political and social response to Blacks across the country in the 80’s and 90’s. Hurricane Katrina would be one of James Crow master greatest works of the millennium. The response to black  poor people dying would be his style. James Crow was forced to responds.  I thought it was very ironic that the 2 pipe lines that run oil from Louisiana are called “Plantation and Colonial” were of great concern to those in power  during the crisis.

The James Crow Church

I wrote several Christian stations following the Hurricane about why they did not show any efforts to help or report the first week. They emailed me back a letter yelling at me about their efforts. After 2 weeks of raising money they went back to business as usual. A few stations had their Fall Telethon for themselves for about 4 weeks straight. They referred to the people there in New Orleans as refugees. But they had several programs on about abortion and the Supreme Court ruling that effected their “Take back America” agenda. James Crow walks in pride. It is important for him to  look good in the face of controversy.  He  just hopes and prays he will not have to show any real effort toward true Christian  race relations. The James Crow Christian will just send more stuff to African and call it “ healing the race”. He hopes the race relations stuff  will go away so he can freely divide the country. True voices  against him  will be shouted down.

The new James Crow Christian will use the bible to justify racist remarks.  He will declare the world is ending because  we have black president. It is  a sign  to him that   the world is coming to an end.  He will preach great words from the bible and Jewish scholars to back up his theories while he preaches  plans to “Take Back America”. This term is used to define a revolution that has no biblical basis.  He  uses the founding fathers as a basis for his cause. The same founding fathers that had  2000 slaves between them when they signed the constitution.

While black  people were dying  in Katrina they are focused on their safe communities and “taking back America”….from who? James Crow Christian says this is a Christian nation. He  hates anyone  that disagree with him that is different politically . Hate is not a Christian concept. Do you want it to be a Christian nation? Or just your nation? The James Crow Church is segregated  every Sunday. He has become comfortable with siting with those who look and think only like him.  The James Crow Christian is now segregated every day of the week. The racial divide widens.

James Crow would be best labeled as “sugar coated racism”. It’s the cousin to riding on the backs of the bus that now  uses  dismantle affirmative action to just keep you driving the bus and not allowing you to really run the company.

It is the attitude of “making you use the colored fountain” that has turned into not giving you a business loan to run a Fountain company. It will allow you attend a white schools but will expect you to lose whatever culture you have. Don’t look back and don’t dare look black. As a matter of fact, it is the same attitude that allows the white Christian church that right to come into our community and preach about policy about abortion but never march with you during injustice and cop shootings. Where are they then?

A large part  the James Crow problem in America  is spiritual. It’s the need to  be the church instead  just going to church. It’s the preaching that encourages us to  buy a house instead of loving our neighbor. It’s that “get mine” mentality that keeps us from coming  together at the cross with real reconciliation. On the Christian airways there is  so many programs on   paying seed money  and  paying the prophets.

The other problem is the programs collectively shut out any dealing with race issues. The programs are  polluted with right winged rhetoric that do not hold interest to that needs of urban communities. We see our vote sold to have others  family’s safe in their  communities  while our brothers and sisters are impoverished, murdered, and living in unsafe communities.

We see preachers making back door deals to sell books and get private planes instead of holding out for truth in Christ. They become Christian celebrities. They do  not have time to pray anymore with broken people who was the landmark of their ministry. James Crow comes in many shades in the church. He has been in the back of barns.

James Crow makes statement like ” pleases stop complaining” and “we are all one”. Yet we are not all  treated equal in this country. When we can watch video tapes after tape of police brutality and say “well, the cop may be right”…something is wrong.  And yet we were encouraged by the Christian networks  to march for abortion and support President Bush in the last 8 years.

James Crow is not just  based upon race  but also based upon caste. There are many sins in the bible. But there are 2 truths that Jesus speaks of and we must hold true…” Love one another ” and “laying  down your life for another”. Our voices must  speak truth  and take a stand when you see another hurting. Our communities have been affected by the James Crow policies nationally and we must start standing again and remove our self from an agenda  that benefit elite communities while  continuing to hurt our people. What would Jesus do?

It is time to address injustice, pray for guidance from God, and build his kingdom without a James Crow mentality and self gain ideology. It is time to be the church and not just go to one. It is time to be like Jesus and not like James Crow. It is time to confront James Crow policy with the word of God and stand for truth. It is time to be who you are and affect the world with what God has given you to reach for greatness! James Crow can try… but he can’t hold you back when your eyes are on God!

Make My Coffee Strong, I Want the Spoon To Stand Up!

So then did I become your enemy speaking to you the truth?” Gal 4:16

“Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding” Pro 23:23

I love watching old movies. The weekends are my time to catch up with Joan Crawford, Bettie Davis, Cab Calloway, and Lena Horn. The movies from the 1930s and 40s have some of the greatest dialogues. I was watching an old movie called “Pinky” a few days  ago. I read Ethel Waters’ biography with great enjoyment a few years back so I try to watch any movie that she was in. She is one of my favorite actresses. She plays a grandmother down south in this movie.

The movie tells the story of a young mulatto girl  named Pinky who comes back  to her home town after living in the big city and working as a nurse. Her Grandmother insisted she  care for  an elderly white woman . The elderly woman had  watched over the grandmother  when she  worked on their land. Pinky had  to come back  to her hometown   and deal  with the race issues that haunted her a as child. She had been passing for a white women in the northern cities.  The movie  was revolutionary because  this topic  among many was not dealt with back in those era on the wide screens.

Pinky attends to the older lady daily. She hated the  whole set up, however she still came around . She develops a strange  and loving relationship with the older women.  The older lady  encouraged her to be real and be who she is.  At one point she tells her to  get her some coffee.

“ Make my coffee strong, I want the spoon to stand up in it!”

That line stuck with me for days. The thought of coffee being so strong that the spoon would stand up in it is thought provoking. The coffee is  symbolic of truth. The spoon is  symbolic for of being able to take the truth. We live in time where illusions are created everyday in beauty, advertisement, TV Commercials, and pop culture. These illusions aren’t exempt in the church either. Things are manipulated to appear to be what they are not. The extremes our society goes through to create false images and manipulate reality is intensifying. The truth becomes lies…

The truth can be hard , ugly, beautiful, inspirational,  and intense. However, it should be the bases of how we live our lives. We should live like strong coffee. Strong coffee can be hard to take.  It is getting easy to stretch and lightens the truth. The spoon is laying on the table and not in the cup for some. The  teaching of the bible has become lightweight in some setting. It is the “user friendly gospel” that is present in  some church settings. The gospel is watered down to make sure it does not offend. It loses it true meaning  at times in this process. Because  of the hatred  that has been  presented as the gospel by extremes fraction of Christianity  in the last 10 years the true concept have to be water down by other  fractions.

The true balance in the gospel is taking  the word of God for what it means. The  Bible talks about the word of God and prophecy that it is not open for private interpretation. In the bible  you can’t  just twist it to make it mean what ever want for you own convenience.  It is missing  the true purpose the word of God. The bible is a historical book  along side the fact it is the word of God.

I studied some archeology  in college before coming a Christian. The consistency of  archeological artifact of biblical account was  one of the main reasons I became a Christian. It was backed with historical fact and evidence that provided evidence  to the stories to be accurate and true. I still study biblical archeology till this day.

Recent studies on the Shroud of Turin that show the  blood stains, nail holes, dimension of Christ, and more confirm that something supernatural happened to the cloth to cause a holographic 3D  x-ray photographic image. The details of Jesus’ resurrection are embedded on the shroud. One thing I found fascinating was the amulet  band placed on Jesus’ neck that read in Aramaic for ” Father”. Also Abba which mean “Dear Father” in some translation. The placing of this on his neck was  part of several different burial rituals both Jewish custom and Roman.

“Many amulets were inscribed on small discs of silver or other metal and worn as a pendant around the neck. Amulets being small in size, biblical verses and names were indicated by their initial letters, with the result that the inscription is frequently very difficult to decipher. The Samaritan community uses names of angels unknown in Jewish tradition.” http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/judaica/ejud_0002_0002_0_01036.html

Father
Aramaic – Aba
Hebrew – Aba
Arabic – Ab

Abba, Father,’ he said, ‘everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”  Mark 14:36

They also discovered coins on Jesus eyes in the tomb dating back to the 29 AD that were from Pontius Pilate reign that confirms the dating of the  cruxciation and resurrection of Christ. The most amazing fact  found  on the shroud  revealed the body was floating in-between the cloth during the explosion of light of the image left on the linen. This is strong coffee that would make a spoon stand up! An event horizon in physic took place!

God is always revealing himself with truth and facts. Approaching the Christian faith with skepticism  some times can lead to becoming a stronger believer   because the evidence  in the natural consistently reveals God’s word as true. I am not an expert by no means. I have a lot to learn and more studying  to pursue about my own faith. It has been  an amazing journey seeking  biblical archeology that confirm   the bible as historical and true for me.

Making strong coffee means intensifying the amount of coffee you use and the mixture of the brand. I like to drink  light breakfast blends sometimes ,but it doesn’t do the job for me. I prefer dark Columbia  coffee or Ethiopian blends. I have been that way most of my life. Truth  is as  strong as a Columbia blend that wakes you up. So many are sleeping in their faith that a strong cup of truth will help mature the soul. Such truths as: A true relationship  God through  Jesus Christ, being a Christian and not just a church goer, character flaws that need to be fixed with the word of God, and learning to love other unconditionally. Some basic Christian  beliefs have gotten lost in the hype of being  so religious. The spoon needs to stand up!

Next time you sit down to drink a  cup of coffee ask yourself, how do I like to hear truth? Truth  is hard to take. It is hard for me to face truth every day. I am a mess some day trying to live my abilities! I have great days of victory when I just walk in Christ alone. The difference is being religious versus  being in relationship  as I accept the work on the cross  by Jesus.  But I realize I will never grow if I allow my self to believe the lies I tell my self to get through the day. I read, listen, and pray to hear God’s truth. The truth is not just the things I am trying to better at, but the greater truth of how much God loves me  even when I struggle with life.  It is  all about his grace and love for me. I am a work in progress and far from what I should be, but I am on my way! Make my coffee strong! I want the spoon to stand up in it!

Come Up Higher!

“But when you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then glory shall be to you before those reclining with you.” Luke 14:10

A few months ago we traveled across Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. We have lived in Colorado for many years. We had never made the trip further west. We had to  take some furniture  to our  son and daughter-in-law. The trip was longer than we thought it would be. It was physically breath taking. I always stare at the heights of the mountains regularly driving across Denver. I never realized how deep, wide, and high the terrain of the mountain range was. The drive through Aspen, Vail, and Grand Junction was unbelievable. I see why so many spend hours and days skiing in the mountains.

We  drove  up to above 10,000 feet in elevation. The air was crisp and fresh. There was not much traffic so we were able to enjoy the ride. The fresh lakes and streams ran along side the highway curving with each slope of the road. The sky was brilliant blue with small hints of clouds fading in and out. When we drove through Utah there were  beautiful red rocks , mountains, and red dirt through the landscape.

We were almost out of Utah when we ran into a forest fire that had just started. It started from a lightning strike that morning and ended up burning over 26,000 acres. The smoke and flames shot along the road and deep into the terrain. We watched the  fire  helicopter cross over our car while attempting to put out the flames. We were watching the earth  and trees burn.

If we had not taken that trip I would never have known what it is like be that high in the mountains. I would not have had the experience of seeing the forest  catch on fire causing so much  natural damage. I would not have had this sensation of what it is like to touch the sky while driving through the mountains. On the drive back through Colorado in the early morning I was up by myself  driving, praying, and talking to God. I could see every star in the sky above. I could feel a peace fill the car as I prayed. The silence and peace that filled my heart rested with me for days to come.

There is a place in God through prayer that is like touching the top of the mountains. Sometimes living this life and encountering all its hardships can turn your prayer life into a routine experience. Prayer is the closest thing we have to touching heaven without ever leaving earth. It is not just the process of praying for things, but communing with God through Jesus Christ. Smith Wigglesworth once said when we pray we touch heaven and earth at the same time without ever leaving the room.

Prayer is one of the privileges we have that allows us to experience God’s voice, love, and power directly. It is in our daily mountain top experience of walking with God that we grow. It is easy to  take for granted the power of prayer in our lives. We can go to God with a list of needs or ask him for direction for the things we are facing in our lives. No matter how he chooses to speak we have  opened the lines of communication greater to know his will. Prayer can involve worship, praise, thanksgiving, and the releasing of burdens. It can be private or corporate. It invites his will and direction into our lives.

Sometimes prayer  for many is like  our trip to California, it is rare for some to experience a higher  level of glory on a daily basis. It can become rare to even feel God’s presence when we pray. There has to be a focused effort to open up our prayer lives to really experience God and his glory in prayer. You have to learn to wait in prayer for answers. It took time to get to the mountains when we drove. It takes time to reach a place in our souls, minds, and spirits where we sincerely let God touch our hearts. The more we allow him in, the quicker the process becomes. It becomes normal then to reach that mountain top experience in prayer. Jesus left the disciples often to go to the mountains to pray. He spent time alone with the Father. He modeled for us that sense of the need to get away with God. Prayer is a cell phone call and a text message  to heaven. IM Jesus when ever you need him. It all began with prayer when we first came to Christ.  It will all end with prayer when we come to the  end of this life. Our final prayer to God is making peace with him.

Living out west I see the mountains every day. We have 360 days of sunshine every year. Today it is 65 degrees. The sky is blue every day. It snows  and then it melts. I am used to seeing blue skies. In our lives we should get used to seeing  answered prayers as blue skies  that will shine every day. Driving through the mountains encouraged me to come up higher daily in my walk with God. My mountain top experience with God daily may be me weeping, sitting still, listening, or just reading the word. My expectations have changed since I made that trip through the mountains.

I desire  so much more to experience a connection in prayer at a higher level  that helps me see God even more clearly in things  I go through. I don’t want to just go through  the motions. God’s glory is revealed even more when we come up higher. Coming up higher  is learning to appreciate and mature in  my walk with God. Coming up higher is understanding the importance of praying for others. Coming up higher   is  loving others with the love of God. Coming up higher means fellowshipping with Jesus with a pure and open heart. Coming up higher is expecting more to happen when I pray. Coming up higher means walking in the Holy Spirit.  Whether you close your eyes when you pray or whether you have them wide open, humble your heart in prayer. I have the mountains in my view every day and heaven on my mind. God is calling us to come up higher!

Parable I wrote about the Mountains in my book  “Lord I Go to Church But  I Can’t Find a Man”.

Words of Wisdom

In living out west in Colorado, I see the mountains every day. I remember once I asked God why there were no trees on the top of a mountain. The Lord spoke to my heart and said that at the top of the mountain was very thin air and that no life forms outside of a few birds could soar or live at that altitude. He showed me the process of going to the mountain, as a spiritual place of prayer. He says you start out in the valley, which is a place of the lowness of life. You gather up everything you need in the valleys of life. That is where all the food and provisions for life grow. In the valleys of our lives. Then you head through the wilderness as you head towards the mountains. The wilderness is at the edge of the valley. It is where the trees grow tall in the sun, animals thrive, and the earth is rich in soil. In the wilderness you take the provision from the valley with you (food, trials, tribulations, daily life). He said “You live off the food from the valley and can gather up more provision in the wilderness.” It is a place of struggles and warfare, and survival. After you pass through the wilderness, you head up to the mountaintop. It is a glorious elevation where only a few travel. There you experience the glory of God in his power and see life from the highest heights. You are alone in that place on the mountain where very few can come with you. However, what you take back with you when you go down is life-changing revelations. You start back all over again in the valley for provision and prepare to go to the mountaintop again to experience God’s glory. Moses knew the mountaintop very well.

Keeping Paper On Your Pottery!

“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. “ Jeremiah 18:1-4

As an artist I have worked in every medium over the years. I started working with clay in college. I attended school at the University of Southern Colorado. It has been renamed to  Colorado State University – Pueblo.  As an art major I was required to take several courses in sculpture and pottery. I took to the clay very fast. I spent most of my childhood working with modeling clay and Play Dough. I was up for the new challenge.

The process of working with clay contains so many spiritual revelations that apply to our process  in life as  Christians.

1. Preparing the clay for use

2. Modeling the clay into form

3. Preserving it for more modeling

4. Carving out details and finishing the design

5. Drying it out

6. Putting it in the fire

7. The  finished work

1.Preparing the Clay For Use

Red clay is my favorite clay to sculpt with. It is easy to mold. My professor kept a big bin of red clay in the studio. The lid was kept on it at all times to keep the clay fresh. He occasionally poured water into it until it was time to use it. The clay was taken from the bin and prepared for use. It was important to knead the clay to make sure all the air was out of it so it would not crack when it was fired.

This is so symbolic of God keeping most of us in a still place until he is ready to use us for his purpose. We are kept wet with the water of his Spirit. We are taken out of consecration  by God when he is ready to use us. We are kneaded, sometimes pulled, and stretched to see what we can become. The air/pride is removed from us so we can be used  to love  his children. God makes sure when we go through the fires of life  we will not burst and break. We  are prepared to withstand  what is to come.

2. Modeling the clay into form

After the clay has been kneaded you begin forming the piece. The clay has to be worked into form. The molding process is done by adding  extra clay and blending it into the full form. If the piece stands up you have to secure the base and make sure the weight will hold when it begins to gain height. You have to keep your hands wet to make sure the clay does not start drying out. It is wise it keep water near by.

When God is molding us he forms us into the image  of who he wants us to be. He is adding to us at all times in our lives. He provides us with all that we need to be formed into vessels. God secures our base and foundation in our salvation with Jesus. As we grow in him his Holy Spirit brings back to us the things we need to know to mature in Christ. God’s hands are wet sometimes with our tears. God’s hands are wet with the water of the Holy Spirit to keep us flexible and growing in him. He keeps his anointing near by.

3. Preserving it for more modeling

Normally it takes me several days to a week to finish a sculpture piece. In order to preserve the clay from drying out you have to make sure it is properly insulated at the end of the day. Take a wet paper towel and cover the whole piece. Layer the paper clay with as many wet paper towels  so that  you keep the clay moist. You take a plastic bag covering the whole piece. It is necessary to make sure there are no hidden holes in the bag where air can get in.  Make sure the bag is securely tighten and closed around the piece where no air can get in. It is very critical that the piece is airtight  and the towels stay  very wet.

It is so symbolic that we are kept saturated with God’s word. The paper towels are symbolic of the word of God. The water on the towels   represent the  Holy Spirit  helping us to understand the word in the process of life. The word and the spirit together preserves us.  The plastic on the piece keeps the  wet towels from dying out. Even in the  process of being molded by God we are kept from things that can interfere with the call and anointing of God in our lives to be who he has called us. Sometimes  friends are removed from your life. Sometime people are kept out of the inside circle of your life so you don’t get distracted or fight battles  that are not your. There are times I feel this way. It  is not that I think I am “special” ,but creating paintings, art, music, writing books, animation, designs, and films, require a certain level of focus and isolation. I am in a productive period of my life at the age of 48. I  have things I need to say in a new voice.  I understand now that it was to help me stay focus, preserved, and flexible for God’s molding.I am a work in progress.

4. Carving out  the details and finishing the design

The stage of molding the clay creates the design of the piece. It  has already began taking form. At this point  the details  help define the piece. The layering of design , clay, and carving into the clay give it a distinction. The clay becomes a finish piece of work  as you labor on the details.

God carves into us at this stage his perfect will, who we are ,and our destiny is made clear in the process of detailing in our lives. The jobs, family, ministry, and gifting become our destiny.  We are  the Master’s fine workmanship. God invested time in  each season of our lives begins to take shape.  Our purpose  in the earth become clear as we are molding by his hands on our life.

5.Drying it out

The clay is left to the open air to dry. It is expose to the atmosphere. It is test as this stage. If anything goes wrong it is broken up into very small piece and put back into the large clay bin with water to become basic clay again. The piece has  to be recreated starting from scratch all over again. Any flaws in the piece are permanent. If there is any air hidden the piece it will crack. The process  will start all over gain. If the piece dries in the manner it should it is preserve at this stage as a work of art. It still has  to be put in the fire to become a finished piece. It is the last test of the clay to endure the fires.

There are times in our life  as we are in the final stages of fulfilling our purpose and becoming who God want us to be. We are exposed  for all the world to see. We are no longer  just being molded by God, but preserve for great destiny.  We are shelved at times waiting for the right time for world, churches, family, and organization to utilized the best that we are becoming. We are still fragile, but on the way to completion. We re vulnerable, but becoming strong and solid every day. We are in the final stages of becoming the Master’s work of art.

6. Putting the clay in the fire.

To make sure the clay  is permanent it has to be fired in  a kiln. There are many different way that clay can be fired. The outcome is  still the same  in all the firing processes. The goal is to ensure the piece is it in a solid from by firing it. It may be fired  many times if needed .  The the clays is purified and perfected by the fire.It a long process. The clay becomes a  solid stable work of art in the final firing. Glazes came by added during re-firing process.

In our lives there are  times we  go through the fires of life to be purified. The fires in our lives test our ability to withstand  the things we go through. We are taught to preserves. All impurity, sins, and infractions are burned from our lives. We will survive the fire of life and come out strong. It  make us  who we are as we pass through the fires. Our character is formed by the process. Who we are is a new revelation  even to us when we come out of the fire. The fire of the Holy Spirit also bring us forth a new  in Christ. We are glazed with his glory.

7. Finished work.

The clay is now a finished piece ready  for display or use. It has endure the process to becoming the Master’s  work of art.

We  are work of art before God’s eyes. All the trial and tribulation we go through in life form us in to the individuals God has called us to. From being molded to being put through the fire of life. We are his finished workmanship.  Our ability to preserve and endure the process  of life  make us  who we are. We should celebrate the master touch on our live. His love  for us takes us through the fires that  cause us to be his children. Celebrate  who you have become by the Master’s  touch on your life !

UYIV! Use Your Indoor Voice!

As a child we were always told to use your indoor voice when you came in the house. This was always symbolic to me of talking calmly and with common sense. When you are yelling something at somebody it becomes more emotional. The truth can get lost in the midst of all the yelling. The truth can get lost in all the emotions. Today in such a heated political environment it is hard to “use your indoor voice”. As a Christian it is even harder.

So many religious discussions turn into heated arguments. The whole idea of never discussing religion or politics has gone out the window. In reality both need to be talked about with an indoor voice. I learned a long time ago in a college philosophy class that I can come to a place of understanding what someone believes without having to give up my own beliefs. It is respecting the differences we all have and the places we are all trying to journey to.

I have been a believer in Christ for 32 years. My walk with God has gotten easier. My walk with the church has gotten harder. I am learning to use my indoor voice when I see so much racism, hatred, division, lying, and pimping in the church. Because I have walked in my faith for so many years I am troubled by what I see in the church. I am an unchurched Christian in the eyes of church goers. I spent most of my adult life in church. In the last few years I have slowed down on attending church. I am trying to be the church by loving people every day, praying, and growing in Christ.

I read, pray, and try to walk as best I can with the revelation of the cross of Jesus Christ every day. I have tried to go to church in the last few years only to be troubled and concerned about what is being taught in some churches which is not in the Bible. It is being fixed to make other points that involve money or power. I am using my indoor voice.

The art of being politically correct has stopped true conversations that need to take place in church. There is the White church and the Black/Brown churches in America. The Black churches I have attended that are not mega churches speak quite openly about the racism, poverty, disparities, and issues in the world based upon race in America. They are still in urban locations trying to make it.

Once they begin the steps toward a suburban “mega church vision” they conform to making money to keep the church open. On the backs of 500-1500 people the church is burdened down with million dollar mortgages. I googled the closings of churches across America. The recent housing market also affects churches that were never finished. The buildings are standing on lots with no parishioners.

The vision starts to change from people to programs to more land. The mega Black churches speak, sometimes, on poverty. Many sermons are spent on money, business, finance, and prosperity. As you read the program list you can get a good idea of the churches’ focus. The church is still in the season of the mega conference. In the 70’s and 80’s I remember when going to church was free. During the 90’s and the millennium the church hit a “self-help” phase. It involved a lot of psychology and self help healing. Jesus was slowly moved out of the church. When he was allowed back into the church for many churches it became more about what he can give you versus who he really is in the Bible. Heaven became a big check book instead of a refuge for salvation. The cross became a piece of jewelry. It is so much more than that! Jesus is Lord!

Racial Divide

Some White churches are just singing “Kumbaya” to deal with the racial divide. There have not been many open rebukes of mainstream White leaders to deal with the bumper stickers that encourage Christians to pray for Obama to die in office. There are those who are using their indoor voice to address and rebuke the issue. We need more churches to speak up.

109:8 May his days be few! May another take his job! 109:9 May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow! 109:10 May his children roam around begging, asking for handouts as they leave their ruined home

Thank you for taking a stand! What an evil thing to pray against someone.

There is coming a time soon when so many of us underground Christians and unchurched believers will speak up prophetically even more about what we see in the church ad where it is headed. I am reading a book by one of my favorite Christian writers Watchman Nee about the Christian life. I read a lot of the classic Christian writers that break down the word of God and encourage a relationship with Jesus Christ. It has been a pillar in my life to read alongside the Bible. There are so many women and men of God who simply wrote about walking with Jesus.

It has been refreshing to apply and pray through my every day walk with such revelations. When I turn on the Christian TV stations I am overwhelmed with paid commercials for finances, vitamins, oil, prayer cloths, prayer shawls, small holy temples, lotions, and health books. Whatever happened to the Gospel? Many times I pass by share-a-thons, raise money-a-thons, and send-a-seed today-a- thons. If I was not a Christian and needed to know Jesus I would have to give a donation just to get help. The TV stations and churches are producing Christian life coaches and celebrities instead of preachers who direct you to God through Jesus Christ. If you give a seed offering as they instruct then, they promise that you can be made whole and know God’s will in your life. In the 1930s during the Great Depression so many con artists and bootleg preachers came on the scene to deceive the hearts of broken people. During these hard financial times in America there is a crop of preachers who are getting rich off of people’s despair. That is not the heart of God. I get so fed up with the gimmicks that I usually turn back to the cartoon channel or an old movie.

My mom who passed away several years ago uses to always say, ‘You have to know Jesus for your self’. She was right. Open your Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to help you, and find Jesus through the pages of the Bible. He is there. If you don’t have a Bible pray and ask him to come into your life. He will be there. Know him for yourself. I am not saying to stop attending churches. I am saying know him for your self whether you are in church or not. Don’t practice religion, practice a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are to be watchman over the walls. As a believer don’t let any one bring you any other Gospel than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am using my indoor voice to encourage you that if you seek him, you will find him when you seek him with all of your heart. He will hear you when you call whether you use your indoor voice or simply cry out… he will answer…
